Guilty Till Proven Innocent a screenplay

GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT (1983 to present) Copyright 2020 by Arthur B. Pulitzer    GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT (GUPI) is a true crime documentary based on hundreds of letters and phone calls from a black death row inmate convicted of murder, a murder that he asserts he did not commit. I am the recipient of John’s 500 letters and scores of phone calls, a white New York businessman who ultimately became his advocate. John continues to research case files in the prison library and, through his many attorneys, has filed over 130 legal court documents. GUPI exposes the layered injustices of the Nevada legal prison system with its corruption and deception against one 78-year-old black man who struggles daily to get a new trial to prove his innocence. Ineffective counsel, evidence withheld, prosecutorial misconduct, racism, and constitutional rights’ violations figure prominently in his story.
