This is a rare and valuable edition of Harper's New Monthly Magazine, Vol. VII, published in June-November 1853. The magazine is beautifully illustrated (397 illustrations) and contains the original Dickens’ Chapter XLVII (Jo’s Will) of BLEAK HOUSE on pp. 93-112; Thomas Gray’s ELEGY WRITTEN IN A COUNTRY CHURCHYARD on p. 1; and two of W.M. Thackeray’s lectures among its abundance of writings. The variety of subjects is amazing from NIAGARA (all about the falls) to NAPOLEAN BONAPARTE to history and geography and, of course, the latest fashions for the ladies. The hardcover binding is intact and the pages are in good shape without any tears or folds. This book is a valuable addition to any collection of antique books and magazines.
